Over the past decades, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation
Department has been organizing the Community Tree Planting
Scheme as an educational programme in March to April annually.
Reasons for Tree Planting in Countryside:
(a) Building up green belts as fire break
(b) Rehabilitating fire-damaged woodland
(c) Protecting soil from erosion
(d) Creating pleasant landscape
(e) Increasing biodiversity and ecological value of environment
